GL events and ATEE Club Biogaz have decided to shift the date of the EXPOBIOGAZ exhibition from its scheduled date in early June to 2nd & 3rd September, 2020 in Lille’s Grand Palais exhibition centre.
The EXPOBIOGAZ organizers are taking every possible precaution to address the general health situation, and are postponing the 2020 edition stands out as the most reasonable decision.
The health of people staffing the 170 exhibitor stands already booked, of our own and our partners’ staff, of the exhibiting companies, and of our valued visitors is our overriding priority.
Nobody can tell when these isolation measures are going to end, therefore unfortunate as it may be, the only possible course of action is postponement of the 2020 edition of the EXPOBIOGAZ exhibition. The decision naturally caused us a great deal of anguish, but with conditions as they are, it was impossible for this event to take place in complete peace of mind.
We are convinced that the whole of our community will be eager to make amends this coming 2nd and 3rd September and give pride of place to this sector of the future.
Florence Mompo, exhibition manager
ATEE Club Biogaz chairman Michel Spillemaeker, has the following to say: “In the current pandemic situation, the sector will more than ever be relying on its trusted partners, but it will as always strive to be creative, committed, and collectively minded in traversing this unique global health crisis. We are going to have to provide new a thrust to our trades that have been subjected to this trial. September will be cardinal in this context, with two essential events for the profession on two separate dates:
- Expobiogaz on 2nd and 3rd September in Lille, with issues that have seldom been more important
- The biogas anaerobic digestion Innovation Research Days in Toulouse on 8th, 9th, and 10th September, 2020, where the state of the art in research will come face-to-face with its practical applications, the cornerstone of our sector’s development. That's why Club Biogaz is looking forward to seeing you in Lille and Toulouse this year!
September 2020: a dynamic return from holidays for biogas stakeholders with the International Research Days scheduled for 8th, 9th, and 10th September in Toulouse
The International Research Days (IRDs) are set out to promote exchanges among the sector’s various stakeholders (industrial companies, farmers, researchers, regional and district authorities) in order to pursue development in the sector compatible with the French context. To do so, research, feedback, and ideas will be thrown around at presentations, round-the-table talks, and private discussions. The 2020 IRDs will be organized by the ATEE’s National Technical Centre for Biogas and Anaerobic digestion in association with INSA in Toulouse, and with the support of APESA, ARVALIS, INRAE Transfert Environnement, INRAE LBE and SOLAGRO.
For now though, the thoughts of all the Expobiogaz exhibition and ATEE teams go out to those affected by the pandemic, to all healthcare staff and other front line workers. They also go to those businesses who are going to have shown real grit in dealing with the economic fall-out of this health crisis and to all those making sure these businesses stay alive and working.
